Life Is Too Short - Do Something You Love! HUGE announcement!
It's been 3 months since my health brought my life to a screeching halt! To say that I was scared and at a loss for the events that unfolded, is an understatement.
In a nutshell, my body SHUT DOWN after an unexpected health issue raised it's ugly head. I have spent 3, yes, THREE months in a state of complete rest as my body was so diligently requesting. Apparently, I turned a silent ear and that's when it all came crashing down.
To not be able to care for yourself, to be in a state of pain, to feel scared as to whether or not you will get back to normal; it was all a lot to bear.
The beauty is that pushing through the pain brought me CLARITY.
It's quite amazing how our perspectives can shift when we find ourselves in a new low point. We appreciate the smallest of things that we once took for granted in our healthier aka "busier" state.
If any of this resonates for you, then please friend, hear me telling you that your life is PRECIOUS. Each day is a gift and it is simple to become distracted with our day to day routines and forget about the most important things in our life.
1. Our health
2. Our loved ones
3. Doing the things that make us happy and appreciate life
Yeah, there's that job we go to, the ever growing to-do list, paying bills, and blah blah blah.....I know friend, it's easy to forget the core values that matter to us with so much to do.
My question for you is this ~
"If today was your last day, would you have any regrets?"
As I sat in that ambulance, I asked myself what I wished I had done before this moment. Before I left, I wish I had kissed my daughter and told her how much I loved her. My husband, Mom, and brother were there as they wheeled me out and I wish I had said how much I loved them. The night before, I wish I had soaked in EVERY precious moment with my family that I could have.
And that is why today, on the day of love, I remind you to keep in mind what matters to you most. Take care of yourself and show yourself some love. And then soak in every hug and caress you can with those who mean the world to you.
I know I will be doing that with my family and I hope I inspire you enjoy these moments, too.
As I wrap this up and we are on the topic of LOVE, I truly mean it when I say that we should do something we love and lights us up.
In the past year, I had something on my heart that I wanted to pursue and I kept making excuses...
Then the events of the past 3 months taught me that there was no better time than the present to just jump in and do it even though I was fearful. And guess what????
I jumped in with BOTH feet and launched my podcast earlier this month and it feels AMAZING!
Am I scared? Freaked out? Nervous? Wondering if I did the right thing? Full of self-doubt?
You know what I also feel? Pure gratitude, joy, love, and over the top excited!
The point is that we can do things even though we are scared and I believe, having fear as our friend is actually the best way to try new things. My new show, She Embraces FEAR Podcast, focuses on how we can push past our fears and do it anyway!
I hope you'll take a moment to tune in. I tend to binge on podcasts when I'm cooking, folding laundry, driving, and taking a shower ~ I listen to podcasts ALL the time. I would absolutely love to hear from you on what topics you would like me to chat about, so reach out to me and let's face fear head on!
