On Thursday, I woke up a dark blonde. Later that night, I was transformed into a fiery red head.
And the truth is, I love changing my hair color often. It's a gamble, a risk of the unknown and it gets me more comfortable with getting outside of my bubble. The comfort zone is a place, I believe, kills dreams and makes life stall out.
While it feels good in that safe space because we know what to expect, its also a chance to get complacent and just accept things as normal or go into autopilot. When I decide to change up my hair color, I see it as fun and a way to create an alternate identity. A way to boost my confidence even if I'm not feeling so powerful. Sure, I get nervous because of the unknown, but over the years I've come to realize that even if it turns out terrible - I can always fix it. It's not the end of the world.
The same is true in life, that thing you've been wanting to try, that opportunity you've been thinking about, that conversation you've needed to have - do it. Just go do it! You can sit around waiting for that "perfect" moment or you can create it right now for yourself. Which will it be?
If you screw up, fall flat on your face, don't get selected - get up, it's okay. It just means this wasn't your opportunity and now you are available for the right one. And guess what? You can try again, it's an endless well of opportunities. As the saying goes, when one door closes another one opens.
Are you ready to create your discomfort zone? I promise it will take you to new places.
I would love to hear from you if you too are an avid hair color changer - aka a woman who recognizes the value in getting outside of your norm to achieve the life you desire. Drop me your comments or connect with me on social media.
